Xpression and participatory photography with smartphone
We participated in a training course Expressions from May 3rd to May 7th in Muenster, Germany.
The aim of the project was to give us skills to use smartphones in our work with youngsters –mostly
take photos, edit them and use them in practise. In the first two days we worked on learning the
skills needed to take good pictures with smartphones, the rules of photography and thought about
the theme for our project. Our assignmet was to agree on a theme that would mean something to us,
to express ourselves. We were free to choose whatever we wanted. We were devided into two
groups, my group eventually agreed to také photos of each other of specific parts of our bodies that
we thought represented us the best, e.g our eyes, our smiles, our hands, etc. The other group took
pictures of each member, than cut them into slices – forehead, eyes, nose, mouth and chin. Then
they puti t on a board for people to play with it. Overall the project was amazing, we had fun, we
learnt many things and met many interesting people.
